Verses of Hope and Healing based on Noble Quran (by Mufti Menk)
1. The first word of Quran
- Bismillah, the first root of healing. translation: indeed in the name of ALLAH.
- Prophet said the one who does not take the name of Allah in everything i.e: in their actions (with niat) will not achieve almost anything from it and the deed can be cut off from Allah's blessing and goodness.
- Learn to take the name of Allah. It will heal the broken soul & hope as Allah is the name of the Maker, the one who will we return, the Protector.
- bismillah in Al-Quran shows that Allah the one who deserves to be worship
- When we take the name of Allah, we will be blessing in all we about to do. For example, when when we eating we read bismillah to seek blessing from the Creator
- From Bismillah, Allah decide to focus on two quality;
1.1 Mercy (Al- Rahman)
The descending of mercy on those who believe in Allah (orang yang beriman), al- Rahman & al-Rahim (said both in surah al-Naml)
Every time you read the Quran; Allah said " auzubillah minashaitan nirajeem"- whenever you read the Quran, you should seek the protection of Allah from syaitan and curse"
1.2 Mercy (al-Rahim)
His mercy is encompassing me (Allah) and not only me but everything. Which al-Rahim will be for the non-muslim but not al-Rahman. the Muslim will have both al-Rahman and al-Rahim
2. To start everything with the name of Lord
- Allah is the one who always makes us always in control & protection
- "Indeed we had revealed in this Quran where in here, there is cure and mercy for the believers"- 17:82 (al-Isra)
3.Surah al-Fatihah
- Alhamdulillah- first word in this surah
-A start with a word of praise upon the good condition
Q: But what if in bad condition? Still praise Allah: Alhamdulillah fi ala kulliha "praise is due to Allah upon all condition"
Reward- In the day of judgement the Caller will call upon those who had praised Allah upon all conditions, and when they were called out, they will be told to enter Jannah before everyone else"
- Praise Allah in all condition because He is the Rabil Alamin "He is the Lord of the world and every existence"
- the Quran had started full of hope and healing. One of the most important surah in the Quran

The Challenge with Change (by Mizi Wahid)
- Most of us set Goals in significant date/event - Ramadhan as leverage
- Ramadhan is more to the spiritual class
- Everyone trying to change as a better person. no matter how small the change, this shows everyone is trying but in every effort, there are always challenges
- challenges may vary when you want to be a better Muslim (external to internal challenges)
- Have you ever tried to make a slight change? But there is no external motivation. i.e: peer pressure, spouse support
- S due to this some might hold back their intention because there no support like "what will people think?" "will people judge my past?" "am i good enough for this?"
- Due to this, remember to take a view that when you take a step towards Allah, He will take thousands steps towards you.
selangkah kita mendekatkan diri kepada Allah , seribu langkah Allah mendekati kita
Daripada Abu Hurairah bahawa Rasullulah S.A.W bersabda :
(Riwayat al-Bukhari , al-jami' al-Sahih al Mukhtasar, Dar Ibn Khatir, Beirut, 1987 , Jil 6 , Hlm 2649 , no 6970)
- Advice:
1. Always begin with clear & right niat. "Inna A'mal lu biniyyat" - every action abid with intention.
With a clear intention, you will have a clear set of purpose and the answer to why you doing such actions. thus we must doing it with faith and perseverance
2. Control your Nafs
Nafs is the whispers that come into our mind with a lot of negative doubts ie: "I'm not good enough, I have less knowledge". To fight this, think positively, as Allah is the Most Merciful of all. By thinking this way, you will have the strength and courage to pursue this change consistently.
Tabarakallah hu fikum. May all of us will have a blessful & fruitful Ramadhan.
